Alcobre Condutores Eléctricos SA is a Portuguese based and registered company operating in the cables manufacturing and distribution industry, producing cables for both the power and telecom markets. With factory, warehousing and administration all based at the facilities in Ovar, some 40km south of the city of Porto, Alcobre is able to manufacture and distribute to customers in Portugal, Spain, France, southern Europe and indeed the rest of the world, covering a wide customer base as far as South America and central Africa.

Alcobre has a dedicated sales team based in Ovar, a sales office based in Lisbon, and is represented by agents in all regions of Spain. This ensures that Alcobre can comprehensively cover the Iberian block and effectively service customers in this area. Export sales representatives manage a customer base in the rest of Europe, central and northern Africa and south America.

Currently with an issued share capital of € 3,300,000, Alcobre is wholly owned by the South African based Powertech group, complimenting their significant cables industry focus in South Africa, Mozambique and Spain.

Alcobre’s main product focuses are on low voltage domestic power cables, distribution cables and telecom cables. A wide range of products is on offer through the working partnership with Aberdare and its other associated companies, broadening Alcobre’s product range to include data cables and a wider range of telecom cables.
